Welcome to Affordable Maids®

Today is the best day ever because it’s the day your life changes.  When you make the decision to join the Affordable Maids® family, we start the process of getting to know you, your needs, your home, your family, and your fur babies.  We want to develop a relationship with you so we can help you never spend another evening or weekend worried about cleaning.

We are a locally-owned business that lives and works in your community.  We understand that cleaning is no longer a luxury but a necessity for busy families like yours.

Since we’re just getting to know each other, there are a few important things that we want you to know about us!

Communication is very important to us, so please call us anytime.  We are here for you, always.

Customer Guidelines

Cleaning Rates – Pricing is based on the square footage, # of rooms, # of people, # of pets and condition of your home and the information you provide.   Quoted prices are a guesstimate and are based on the information given to us.  These prices are subject to change upon final inspection of your home when the team comes to clean.

Initial cleaning price - If we get to your home to clean and it is going to take longer to complete than anticipated, we will inform you and you will have the option to either add additional hours at our normal hourly rate or stop at quoted price understanding that not all quoted rooms may get cleaned.  If we can’t reach you, we will clean entire quoted rooms and you will be charged on the credit card we have on file for the full amount.

Recurring price - Our recurring cleanings are a flat rate - meaning you are charged the same for each visit. If we find we are going over or under the time you are paying for we will let you know and adjust the price and time accordingly after speaking with you. These prices remain in effect as long as we clean on a recurring basis at least once per month. If recurring service is interrupted, we will schedule one-time cleanings at the higher rate

Preparation For Your Cleaning – Please pick up as much as possible before your cleaners arrive. Please pick up and put away toys, clothing, and trash. Also, it helps if you declutter surfaces as much as possible. This will allow us to focus more on "cleaning" rather than "tidying."

Cleaning Is Not Restoration – Cleaning is sometimes not enough to make surfaces look "like new." For example, if your faucet area has been subjected to years of hard water build-up, we may be unable to clean away the hard water marks. The same is true for mold that has built up behind your bathroom caulking. So, while we can't make every surface look new, what we can guarantee is that it will be clean.

Your Feedback - We need your feedback and input on your overall experience and the quality you are receiving so that we may address issues that are important to you. We take great pride in our work and will address and/or correct any issue we are made aware of.

Quality Control – Affordable Maids® is known for delivering excellent quality. One of the ways we ensure this is by emailing you a survey after every cleaning asking for your feedback.

Pets – We LOVE them and are excited to meet all your fur babies! Thank you for securing any pets that may show even the slightest aggression. Please also note that we do not clean up any animal accidents.

Cancellation/Reschedule – Once your appointment for service is scheduled, we set that space aside specifically for you.  we also reserve the employees to clean your home and turn other business away.  Because of this we require a 48-hour business day cancellation notice otherwise we charge your credit card a cancellation fee.  There is a $30 charge for cancellations or reschedules under 48 business hours prior to the appointment. Business hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Lockouts – If we come to your home on cleaning day and can’t gain access, your credit card will be automatically charged $75.

Illness/Covid – We appreciate advance notice if someone is home sick (and contagious). If anyone in the home has Covid and is quarantining, the cleaning will need to be rescheduled.

Weather – When inclement weather strikes, the safety of our employees is important. We will inform you of any delay or rescheduling as early as possible.

Snowy/Icy Conditions – if your driveway or sidewalk isn’t cleared off and teams feel unsafe, they will leave and there will be a travel fee of $25 charged to the credit card.

Payments – Payment is due at the time of service.  Reservations for service must be secured by a credit card. We only accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover for payment.

Damage - When cleaning it's always possible that we might inadvertently damage a surface. Here's how we handle it.

  • If we damage something let us know within 48 hours of the cleaning.
  • We may ask for pictures.  If it appears to be our cleaner's fault, we will replace or repair it.

Breakage - Accidents are bound to happen and we feel awful when it does.

  • Sometimes there are "accidents waiting to happen" such as pictures not hung securely, top-heavy, wobbly, tippy objects, or slippery objects such as olive oil bottles with loose caps. We cannot take responsibility for these. Please remove unstable breakables to a place we don’t clean (we don’t clean inside curios, china cabinets, or wet bar shelves)
  • If we break something we will replace or repair it for up to $100.
  • Please move expensive décor, figurines, or glassware valued at over $100 to a location we are not cleaning, or have us skip that area entirely if you do not want to accept that risk.
  • Breakage must be reported within 48 hours of cleaning.

Gift Certificates – When you purchase a gift certificate we will take payment on your credit card.  The gift certificate will say how long the team will clean for.  Gift Certificates are sold by a $ amount they can apply to the cleaning. Unfortunately, there are no refunds when purchasing gift certificates and they are not transferable.

Solicitation – We value our employees and pour an enormous amount of time, energy, and expense into our screening, hiring, and training process.

  • Our employees sign a non-compete, non-solicitation agreement when they are hired. They face legal jeopardy if they offer to clean for you "on the side.”  Please inform the office if your cleaner ever approaches you in this regard.
  • If you solicit our employees for private hire, our cleaners are required to report this to our management. If confirmed, we will terminate our relationship and cancel your service.

Quality Issues - If at any time there is a legitimate quality problem on a specific area that Affordable Maids® has cleaned, the problem must be reported to Affordable Maids® within 24 hours after the service has been performed.  Affordable Maids® must be given the opportunity to remedy the quality at their discretion.  Any deviation on the customer’s part from this method of resolving quality problems forfeits the customer’s opportunity to claim that there is a complaint.  At which time the customer will be responsible for payment in full to Affordable Maids® for services rendered and the customer’s credit card will be debited for the amount that is owed.  If the customer deviates from Affordable Maids® standard operating system for dealing with quality problems, the customer gives up their right to clarify that there is a complaint and to argue chargeback credits or debits on their charge card.

Services Begin/End – Services start when team pulls up to your home and starts to unload vehicle.  Services end when team loads vehicle with all supplies and equipment.

Construction Cleans – These types of cleanings require 2 consecutive cleanings due to the settling of dust on furniture and surfaces after construction is performed.  We are not responsible for dust resettlement.

Things We Don’t Clean or Do – Clean or remove nails, plaster or paint.

Blood, urine, feces. We will go around that area or skip the room entirely

Things or Situations That Would Cause Teams to Leave – if any of the following scenarios are found, the team will leave immediately and the credit card on file will be charged for the time spent and services performed up to the time of departure.  Blood, urine, feces, infestation of insects, unhealthy or unsanitary conditions extreme heat or cold inside the home, dangerous or uncomfortable situations.

Mold – due to OSHA regulations, we don’t clean mold nor do we use any bleach or Tilex-like product because of the fumes.

Ovens – due to OSHA regulations, our teams do not use oven cleaners such as Easy Off, etc. nor do we clean inside ovens.

Appliance Cleaning – due to the risk of pulling hoses or water lines and causing damage, we cannot move any appliances to clean behind.

Moving Furniture – due to safety reasons we do not move heavy furniture such as beds with headboards, dressers, stereo cabinets, china closets, etc.

Gratuity (tipping the team) – while not mandatory, your gratuity is genuinely valued.  We recommend 10-15% of the service.  Should you wish to include a tip with your credit card payment you may.  You may also show your appreciation to the team by leaving them a cash tip.
